Resort ‘20 explores aposematism; the use of bright colours for defence in the animal kingdom.
There are several reasons why animals have evolved such crazy colouration tricks. The obvious ones - camouflage enables an animal to remain hidden from view. But also the more unique - animals also use colour to advertise goods and services - such as cleaning and lawn mowing; to signal their sexual status, preference and virility to others. Some animals use flashes of color to avoid attacks, like Zebras - sort of a seeing-eye game to bamboozle a hungry Lion. Some animals are coloured to mimic the effects of SPF50, while some frogs can lighten or darken their skin to act as a thermostat.
While this may seem irrelevant to handbags it is great fodder for developing a colour palette of nature’s best and brightest. Our latest collection contrasts texture, material and form through striking colours and bold patterns. New season hues of the Poison Dart frog-inspired Coral, and the Gooty Tarantula’s Cobalt are highlighted alongside tonal seasonal colourways; Ink, Natural and Smoke. The ever-vibrant Python capsule is presented this season in a beautiful Duck Egg and Coral colourway.
Deadly Ponies pushes the boundaries this season through advanced aesthetics and techniques.
With a fresh take on small leather goods, including a full reboot of the category in a new leather and handcrafted to perfection, our precious smalls are also available in a stunning range of seasonal colours, Lotus, Cobalt, Celeste, Forest and Pewter. Nature loves colour, so should we.
