Retail

With a growing number of boutique locations across New Zealand and Australia, our in-store team has a strong focus on customer service, providing considerable knowledge on our pieces and sustainability; creating a premium experience on every visit.

MARKETING & DIGITAL

Responsible for all Marketing elements across brand, digital, CRM and creative; we are always on the pulse and pushing boundaries. Our outlook is design-led, with a strong focus on curating and cultivating the Deadly Ponies brand. 

DESIGN

Led by our Creative Director, Liam Bowden, our inhouse design team is the spark that drives Deadly Ponies. From an initial sketch to the finished product, our team are the curators of our unique and innovative collection, producing through a considered lens.

SUPPLY CHAIN

The stitching that holds us together, our Supply Chain team are responsible for all operations and logistics globally, including our Australian and New Zealand stock rooms, and delivering each piece from our hands into yours, leaving as little carbon footprint behind as possible.

SALES & WHOLESALE

Our Sales & Wholesale team know their way around a spreadsheet or two and have an eye for soon-to-be coveted pieces; overseeing demand planning, buying and managing relationships with our stockists globally, and our weekly sales insights.

Store Manager in Training - Ponsonby, Auckland

FULL TIME - 40 HOURS

This role reports to the Retail Team Leader and is responsible for the effective management and day-to-day operations of the Deadly Ponies Ponsonby Store. Leading and training the store team to achieve expected sales results by elevating the customer experience through outstanding in-store and omnichannel service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver the Numbers
▪ Deliver weekly and monthly sales targets, achieved through best-practice customer experience and focus on key performance indicators to assist in the achievement of sales growth.
▪ Provide ongoing observations in relation to retail trends, and localized insights such as foot traffic, precinct updates, and customer feedback.
▪ Lead clienteling within the store; ensuring VIP customers are recognised and maintained to the highest standard along with continually looking to develop and build such relationships.

Champion the Brand
▪ Become the voice of the Deadly Ponies brand through the education and communication of our values and pillars to retail team members, customers, and brand partners.

Lead the Team
▪ Ensure team members are well supported to achieve within their roles. Lead by example, train, develop, and support the team to provide a best-practice customer service experience within a premium brand.
▪ Manage all hiring and rostering ensuring adequate cover is provided. Working closely with the Team Leader on new starter contracts, timesheet administration, and other HR requirements.
▪ Ensure all sales staff provide on-brand, luxury, and personalized customer service including an on-brand in-store experience by providing relevant training and managing customer service strategies, including, but not limited clienteling, customer engagement, brand awareness, and the VIP Pony Club.

Drive Efficient Store Operations & Inventory Management
▪ Store operations to be efficiently managed and meet company expectations. Working collaboratively with various internal departments on transfer and stock rotation processes for the best possible inventory mix enabling the store to captilise on all sales opportunities.
▪ Undertake regular cycle counts and stocktakes to ensure stock accuracy within the business. Monitor shrinkage and theft, executing preventative measures to keep loss at a minimum.
▪ Support online channels through the timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
▪ Ensure service levels via the customer support & live chat platform are consistently high with queries attended to and resolved within a timely manner.

Visual Merchandising and Store Aesthetic
▪ Follow and implement Visual Merchandising directive ensuring merchandising meets Deadly Ponies guidelines at all times as provided by the Retail Regional Manager and Creative Director. Ensure merchandising is regularly revisited and refreshed to align with seasonal campaigns and is focusing on product turnover.
▪ Store aesthetics and environments are to be maintained to a high level, including cleanliness and ensuring any store maintenance is attended to in a timely manner.
▪ Ensure all W&S guidelines are appropriately implemented and feedback is provided when needed.
▪ Liaise with contacts for store maintenance issues including but not limited to store repairs, cleaning, security, property managers, architects, etc. on an as-need basis.

▪ Be punctual and work the hours and times specified.
▪ Prioritise workload to ensure work of the greatest importance to the business is undertaken with urgency and to a high standard.
▪ Support and help develop a positive workplace culture.
▪ Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills.
▪ Responsibly manage all business resources within accountability levels.
▪ Undertake all duties and responsibilities outlined in this Job Description and all other duties as required by the business.

Representing the Deadly Ponies brand to our Queenstown and online customers; you will be tasked with managing the daily operations of the store, providing a premium experience for our customers whilst meeting sales targets. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The role of the Retail Store Manager is to manage the daily operations of the Deadly Ponies retail store and provide premium experiences for our customers.
  • Meet sales targets whilst aligning rostering to wage budget.
  • Manage your store team to provide outstanding clienteling, in-store brand experiences and seamless online support through Live Chat.
  • Ensure stock and all daily/weekly processes are managed efficiently and accurately.
  • Own the store aesthetic and visual merchandising. 
YOU WILL BRING TO THIS ROLE
  • 2-3 years in a premium/luxury retail environment with 2+ years in a retail management position.
  • Proven sales, clienteling and customer service skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a busy online fulfilment operation.
  • Professionalism and personality.

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Retail Store Manager with a customer first mindset to join our close-knit, fun, and high performing team. Representing the Deadly Ponies brand to our Queenstown customers, you will be tasked with managing the daily operations of the store, providing a premium experience for our customers whilst meeting sales targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The role of the Assistant Store Manager is to support the daily operations of the Deadly Ponies retail store and provide premium experiences for our customers.
  • Meet sales targets whilst aligning rostering to wage budget.
  • Manage your store team to provide outstanding clientelling, in-store brand experiences and seamless online support through Live Chat.
  • Ensure stock and all daily/weekly processes are managed efficiently and accurately.
  • Own the store aesthetic and visual merchandising.
YOU WILL BRING TO THIS ROLE
  • 2 years in a premium/luxury retail environment with 1+ years in an Assistant Retail Management position or as a Senior Sales Assistant
  • Proven sales, clientelling and customer service skills
