This holiday season, Deadly Ponies is proud to announce a new collaboration with Forest & Bird as part of their annual Christmas campaign.
Deadly Ponies will introduce Mr Kororā - a limited-edition bag celebrating the world’s smallest penguin, the kororā.
Inspired by the species’ charm and resilience, this bespoke design honours one of New Zealand’s most beloved seabirds, with 25% of proceeds from each bag donated directly to Forest & Bird to help protect our manu from predators and restore coastal habitat for kororā and other species.
In line with Deadly Ponies’ zero-waste to landfill initiative, Mr Kororā is crafted from past-season leather offcuts, giving premium materials a second life.
As a Certified B Corporation, Deadly Ponies upholds the highest standards of social, environmental, accountability, and transparency. This commitment extends to every material used - working exclusively with hides that are by-products of the meat industry or natural casualties, all fully traceable and Leather Working Group Gold (or equivalent) certified.
By aligning with Forest & Bird’s mission to restore and preserve Aotearoa New Zealand’s native biodiversity, Deadly Ponies extends their impact beyond the atelier, supporting meaningful, long-term conservation initiatives.
With 90% of New Zealand’s seabird species and 82% of shorebird species threatened or at risk of extinction, this partnership invites us all to play a part in safeguarding Aotearoa’s native species for generations to come.
Forest & Bird is New Zealand’s leading independent conservation organisation and specialises in the protection of New Zealand's unique wildlife and natural ecosystems.
Customers will also have the opportunity to make a donation at checkout throughout December, with all funds raised supporting Forest & Bird’s vital work across Aotearoa.
Mr Kororā is available exclusively at deadlyponies.com and in Deadly Ponies stores.
